Thread: Any thougts on the formatt change?

For awhile I tried moving EVERYTHING that wasnt fishing related to the off topic. I know Stumphunter was trying to do the same. But by doing that it appeared that people started slacking off on their posts so I noticed some "off topic" threads werent getting moved so I slacked off too. And so far we havent received any posts of folks complaining like beforehand so as long as it continues running smooth like it has for the past few months I wont be moving any more threads. That is, as long as it's acceptable by Slab. I know we all want this to be a family friendly site and all the folks here on the SC boards seems like family so lets just keep on keeping on!

The only problem I had was there were a couple times some fishing trips for the weekend were discussed in the Off Topic forum. Since I never look there, I almost missed a couple. I understand the reason for an Off topic forum but it should be for non fishing stuff.

The nc page started moving everything to the off topic and I hate it. I want to look at one spot and see everything. It isn't like you have to wade through 50 post to find a fishing report. I am here as much for the other stuff as the reports.

Like Butch I have just about stopped moving any post from the main page to the OT page. Unless the thread is really of topic I won't move them so I am asking all members to help us Mods keep the main SC page clean of the OT post. Family and Friendly post have always been the main goal for Crappie.com and the SC page and it's a rarity to have to delete a post or thread on our pages. Slab is the boss and it comes down to his decisions but I think we need to keep the OT page for those threads that at time needs to be moved.
I know fishing post have been slow but they always are throughout the summer months. I look forward to seeing that change soon. Some of our base members that have been around for a while are no longer with us anymore and we do need the younger guys and girls to pick up where the older members left off and keep Crappie.com going for many years to come.

Just don't turn it into a Happy Birthday thread like NC board is already!

So, after watching this thread for a while, I think the conclusion is, we leave the SC OT forum here for just things like "happy birthday threads". And even after having said that, even if one pops up on the regular SC forum, there's really no need to move happy birthday type threads unless it becomes obnoxious on the regular SC forum. Sound like a plan?
