    It’s a tough lake to catch crappie. My friend has tried and didn’t do that well. He even planted some bamboo piles and still struggled to catch them. L. Murray would be another option.

    Monticello is tough for crappie. But if you want big perch have at it. If I just had to then it would be Monticello also! Water will be better there and not muddy like other bodies of water that have a lot of run off going into it.

    Roads are no issue, lots of high, muddy water heading into lakes from all the recent rains. All the black water creeks will remain fishable though. The bite was tough last weekend, good luck!

    Thanks for the info Inkdabber. Fished Sat. and this am and Saturday did well with quality but not quantity which I will take out there anyday. Wind tough this am. Water cool and muddy.
