Default Hand Wrapper In The Making

I'm working on making a hand wrapper for some repair work and a rod build or three in the future. The nice thing about this build is I can take it apart for storage when I'm not using it. Don't pay attention to the messy work area. If I cleaned it up, I wouldn't find what I needed when I needed it, hahaha. Not finished yet, but getting there...Attachment 460720Attachment 460721Name: 20230605_171006.jpg

I wrapped one and flex coated the entire rod in the 90's using a plywood stand with 2 padded Vee knotches. Those were good times. I still have the rod. Look forward to seeing your builds

Jack, I have one rod I picked up that the first two guides closest to the reel are slightly off to one side I want to get right and some long rods I want to reconfigure a bit. While I get the funds put back for a couple of rods I want to put together. I'm considering customizing the ones I have with some wraps in-front of the grips as well. Just something to keep me busy when I'm not doing honey do's when I can't get to the lake...

It does warm the heart to catch fish on a rod you have built. I caught a many of flounder and some red fish on the one I built. Certainly something magical about it for sure.

yes sir, that's a fact. Combine that with a jig you tied yourself, and it's hard to contain yourself...As a well known charactor says, WOO, I MEAN WOOOOO!!!!!

    100%!

After I used JDM UL rods, I wanted to make one on a JDM blank. So, I did that and I enjoy fishing it more than the production rods. Magical for sure!

Getting it there slow but sure Danny. Sortta got too many irons in the fire at the moment. Floor replacement project, replacing the back door and redoing the inside wall. Have to replace the utility room floor and sub floor due to a water pipe leak that I fixed. And of coarse take the better half around for Dr. Appointments in the mix, as well as the regular weekly things to do this time of year. I have all the major pieces cut and ready to assemble. I'll probably have it done this week-end. I'll post picks up when I do.
