Default New Kistler UL blank HM toray

Decided to try out the new kc8 Kistler UL blank HM 100% toray carbon. 5’9” blank weighs 18 grams so weight when done around 38 grams (1.3 oz) for vertical jigging. UL blank comes in 7’ (28 grams) and you can do 7’ or cut to suit, I did 5’9”, has a fast tip. Very sensitive blank, compares well with other HM blanks, not whippy at all.

What are the tip and butt end diameters on those blanks? I am also curious how you bought this blank, I did not know Kistler would sell just the blanks.

original butt .35 in 7’ blank
butt at 5’9” .335 in tip .045 in

they will sell UL blanks in 7’ and you trim to suit. His 6’ ul rod complete weighs 2 oz. With my Ul components my 5’9” rod will weigh 1.3. Blank is HM and very light.

Man, those guides are tiny. Not sure I wouldn’t beat them up somehow.
