    Default Am I sick??

My wife and kids got me a hand wrapping start up kit and a gift certificate from Mudhole this past Christmas. Since then I have built 8 rods. Four are mine, one is my wife's, two are gifts for my in-laws, and one is for my oldest grandson. I just ordered one for my daughter and thought "while I'm at it...", now I have the stuff rods 9 and 10 coming. That is 10 rods in 3 months. I have never bought more than 4 rods in a year when they are from the store. What is going on here??

Enjoy you new pastime. There is a lot of satisfaction in creating your own rod and then catching fish with it.

No sicker than the rest of us. I’ve built a few myself and bought a power wrapping machine. It really is fun. Do you have a turning machine for the epoxy coating? They turn out great when you get that squared away. Enjoy the ride……

I do, it came with the kit. It is a hand wrapper, the rod dryer, some thread, some epoxy; both kinds, and other various supplies.

I have so many reels without rods I feel a little I'll myself! So far though, my fly/jig tying area takes up enough space and time to keep me from really getting ill! You guys that build your own rods certainly get my praise.
