Default Advice on blank purchase PLEASE !

The subject line says it all I could use some advice. I have been lurking here awhile and still want to take a shot at a custom rod . My goals are to be able to cast a 1/16 oz jig as far as possible and maintain a sense of feel for light bites . My thoughts are a 9 ft blank , light power , not sure on rod action my guess is med-fast to give the rod a little whip to cast with . From what I have read steelhead blanks or flyrod blanks are good candidates for my needs. Trouble is I cant find a steelhead blank with the above specs and I dont understand flyrod specs to translate to power ,action etc. Guides I have no idea yet but something midlevel.
Ok any suggestions or advice would be appreciated . To be honest not even sure my thoughts on light power and med-fast action are correct .

    Thank you

Let me offer advice after building 200+ crappie rods from fly rod blanks. I buy a 9' 4 pc brown colored blank from GETBENT fly shop here in St Lois MO for about $38.95 something dollars plus $9.95 shipping in a cloth bag in a tube. GOOD PEOPLE. I use the Airwave guide set up as I have found the guide placement starting at 19" from face of reel helps with reducing line slap, thereby increasing length of cast (TRY IT BEFORE YOU DOUBT IT). The blanks are about a 5 weight fly rod, so I guestimate that to be a medium crappie rod. I'm about to turn 85, so I will gladly give you the machines to put the rod together (Its really easy with a little patience) If you would like to discuss further or meet near St Louis County (Westport area), drop me a private message. I almost forgot, I sent several of my crappie rods and reels to ICAHABOD over there in Illinois, so if you know him, check to see how he likes them
