Default Looking for 9' - 11' panfish blanks

I've been looking at building a 9 - 11 ft. light action rear seat rod myself. "Looking" is the right word. I'm looking at a F902MHX blank from LurePartsOnline. I just want to build one with my specs and something I can use to pull sacalait out of canals and cypress stumps down here in South Louisiana. I'm new to this but hope to come out it with a usable rod!

If you know of any places online that might have clearance/discontinued light blanks let me know.

Don't overlook a cheaper fly rod blank. I personally use a 8' 5/6wt fly rod for a short crappie dipping rod and it works great for me, but I'm not ripping big Louisiana slabs out of cypress. a 7/8wt would probably be better. Pawn shops usually have cheap fly rods. Another option is under spinning rods, trout/steelhead blanks. Those are moderate action and come in long lengths.

Thanks Kevin22, I'll have to try the pawn shop and the cheap fly rod blank.

Fly blanks are the way to go in my opinion. The longer blanks they make for standard spinning gear just seem to be much too heavy, thick, and not sensative. 4 and 5wt in 9 foot is just about right. I've been using 10'6" fly blanks for years and building them in to spinning rods for steelhead.
