I’ve been working on getting these rods just right. I’m changing the decal a little since they messed it up in printing and have to reprint them after I called and gave them my order over the phone😑. As you can see they are feather lights for a 7ft UL rod with all premium Fuji components. After I add the decal, hook keeper, trim bands and the flex coat it really won’t add much weight to the rod. Ball park a 10th of a oz I’m guessing. The difference in weight comes in what the handle is made of. The win grip ( 2.34oz) the cork was (2.39oz) and the Eva was (2.5 something oz) To give you a idea of weight that castaway is a 5ft6in UL witch came in at 2.58oz. When I get the decals in I’ll finish them up and let the cat outa the bag.

Right now they just look naked to me. After I get the decal, hook keeper and trim bands on, it will pull the hole rod together and have a clean sleek look to it. Waiting on this decal is maddening. Lol I feel like I have checked my mail box 500 times in the last 3 days

well the decals have been reshipped should have them in the next 2 days hopefully. Im working on one that is flirting with the 2oz mark, hopefully comes out under 2.2 oz finshed. but that rod is just not a realistic price point. I did it just to try and build one at 2oz or less and it came out right at 1.9 in just the components.

Size: 101.2 KB Only thing it’s missing now is the fish measurement band but depending on what state it goes to it will change so that awaiting its owner and a second finishing coat of flex coat and their ready. After I take some better pictures I’ll be putting them in the classification with info on them.

    nice rods & wraps

check out Matagi Fishing Workshop 釣り工房マタギ 完全なるロッドパーツの世界 - order their catalog (free) - they carry a lot of UL guides and blanks that you can't find in the US. I got it mostly for Aji and Mebaru style rods. Translation button is upper right on the screen.
