Cool crappie wrangler. One day I'll be able to get a copy of those too. But in the mean time I'll keep plugging away at what I'm doing. I am only doing it for something to do. I moved up here to Missouri Last January and really wasn't ready for the cold winter I came into. I had plenty to do getting settled in, but this winter I will be working on fishing gear and getting things ready for my boat come spring.
Down where I was in Florida, we had a bit of cold winter too, up in the north west part between Tallahassee and Pensacola. But the worst only lasted for a week or two, then it started to gradually warm back up. Here it was a lot longer. with my baby back to work now and gone for a couple weeks at a time, I'll need something to occupy my time, or go stir crazy. What better way to do that than refresh my rods and gain a couple really nice ones to boot. So once I have the boat pretty much finished, ( still have to put the flotation foam under the seat benches, and secure the seat bench tops them selves, then attach the front deck I made, install some lights for those night runs of fishing, I'll be ordering some of those MHX 2pc 9' fly rod blanks and necessary hardware to put them together. I really would like a couple of them and a couple of the 7' Cherrywood med./light spinning rods. Of coarse I'll rewrap them to match what i'll be doing with the 9 footers. bu t that's my plan any way. Eric, AKA "jamesdean".

I have the good fortune to live close to BD and fish with him. He was a very good influence on my rod building. I have met many masters of the craft through him and seen some awesome work over the years. You guys are pretty darn good too. When it came to crosswraps, weaving, and all other thread art he was a great mentor who made the learning curve much shorter for me. He always tells me that when it came to thread art, "why fish with an ugly rod, when you don't have too"!!!

The blue and white is my favorite. A buddy of mine does some distortion wraps that are pretty awesome. I'll have to get some photos.

Tiger wraps is what you're likely referring to. It has a wavy appearance to it where it looks like the thread is moving.
