    Default Welcome

Welcome to the new Crappie Dot Com Rod building forum.

Many people asked for it and Slab came through with our very own forum dedicated to all things in the Rod building community.

If you have questions regarding rod building, tips on how to get something done, or general questions regarding the hobby, please feel free to submit a thread. Crappie Dot Com has thousands of members and many of them are well versed in the aspects of custom rod building and fixing fishing rods. This is a very diverse group with many individuals that are equipped to help answer questions, teach new methods, and provide some tricks of the trade that have been learned over many years of craftsmanship.

Please feel free to start new threads on any new builds that you have. Include as much details as possible regarding the action, type of rod, why you chose it, and what materials you have on it. Include as many pictures as you can. Rod building is a science and an art all mixed in to one!

Thank you for the new trend on Rod building we need a list of where to buy blanks in the necessary equipment to build a rod so if you can put together a list of companies it would be appreciated . I have built many rods in the past we used to get a lot of stuff from herders and years ago we used to buy blanks from a local sporting goods shop in the 60s course back then we didn't have graphite we only had fiberglass.

Awesome. Thanks for a spot to share rod builds. I look forward to seeing others work and learning.
I'll post some builds over the next couple weeks.

I'll start a sticky with all the locations that I purchase rod building supplies from. Everyone can add to it with little known places and hot spots they utilize as well!
