Ice Out Presentations
I'm in New England here, Mass. to be specific and we still have ice on the ponds! That should be changing in a week or two though and I'm getting really anxious for open water. The past couple of years, a week or two after ice out, crappie by the hundreds school over open water (10' - 15' deep) with there backs almost out of the water! This only last a few days to a week at most. I've thrown jigs (tubes & curly tails), but rarely can you catch one. Marabou jigs take a few more, but again, with so many fish there, I must be missing out on some kind of presentation I'm just not familiar with. BTW, I'm not an advocate of using live bait; mostly I'm a CPR fisherman. :) Anyway, if any of you have some suggestions as to how to approach this situation, it would be appreciated muchly. Thanks in advance folks!

An ice fly and a couple of maggots under a float a couple of feet deep and your good to go.
