What up Slab, I finally got the kids off to college and ready to do some serious fishing. Then a funny thing happened. Mother Nature woke up from her two month nap. Let's try to plan a fishing trip as soon as the rain let up a little............

I don't know what's been happening to the weather lately but it sure has been ruff around these parts. My dads been catching crappies out of Sawyer over the past few weeks but no slabs. Tried Union and Washington over the weekend and got a few slabs but no real numbers of fish. With Fall right around the corner they should be getting ready to put the fed bag on soon.
We need to try and hit Lake Sammy soon!
I went out there friday and didn't even catch a perch. I went to 5 mile this morning and caught some small blue gill and perch, nothing worth keeping. In the morning I'm going over to Trout lake if I can get my friends canoe.........Quote:

:DWell my favorite little lake came througth in the clutch again. I ended up with 7 keepers 5 crappie, 2 perch. The canoe was a bad idea though. The time I wasted strapping it to the top of the truck, unstrapping it, strapping back up again and then unscrapping it, really wasn't worth the effort. The lake is still putting out nice black slabs, lots of bass and trout. I had a great time, cause i haven't fished this lake all year. Man I miss my small boat.....................Quote:

Most of those little lakes are overlooked by most guys but are full of nice fish. I used to love fishing Spring Lake in Renton, lots of nice largemouth and hardly anyone on the lake. Sounds like you had a good time out there. I got a good report about the crappies in Lake Ohop and Kapowsin. I'm gonna try and check them both on sat. morning and see what's biting.
I've never fished Ohop, but it looks like a pretty good lake to fish. Hell I might even drive over there in the morning...........Quote:

I'm heading up there on Sunday. There's a few great spots to fish from the bank. Same deal on Kapowsin which is about 5mins up the road from Ohop. Lots of great places to fish from the bank on the east side. I'll probably check out Erickson's Resort early Sunday morning then head down to Ohop before checking out the east side of Kapowsin.
I ended up catching 7 nice crappies, and 3 perch. However it took me all day. It's a nice lake, but once again it would have been a lot better with my old small boat. We fished from 7:30 til' 2pmQuote:

Also, the sunken stump fields to the left of the lunch can be good for perch, crappie and nice catfish at night. The crappie school up in the fall right outside the main creek channel as well.
