looks great man!!! glad to hear you caught some. i think i know were your fishin:D
It looks like you have added more deck to that boat. It looks pretty good. How did you reinforce the deck?
Well I got a bunch of 2x2 and cut them to length and screwed them into the marine plywood and then carpeted over it.....i got about 7-8 of em underneath it..doesnt move at all...i really didnt want to screw into the fiberglass plus this way i can just take it out when i want to...
Use the search feature at the top of the page, there are already quite a few threads with plenty of pic's on spider rigging.
Spider rigging is fine for some folks. I do good to manage two poles! After that, crappie fishin' becomes work for me. To each his own.

I find 4 rods are all that I can handle. Some guys can handle 6 - 8 but not me.
since I fish Lake Weiss in the fall there is only a 3 pole limit per person. Just enough for me to handle
We are only allowed 2 poles in Ne.
When I first started crappie fishing I thought that spider rigging would be great to learn in order to get more fish in the boat. Since I've determined I am not a tournament or competitive fisherman I've realized that putting fish in the boat was not my cocain fix, buzz, or rush while crappie fishing. It was the tactile strike indication that I got from the thump that really charged me. The use of visual strike indicators for spider rigging or pulling cranks just didn't seem like a fit for me. Although I do enjoy reading about how it is done just in case push came to shove and I was really needing to put fish in the boat. The infinite variations for crappie fishing really makes it a very interesting pursuit.

I'm with you on feeling the thump, that's what it's all about. Tried spider rigging, never could get into it. I can understand those who do, controlling the boat has to be an art in itself.
I spider rigged for the first time sunday and although I didnt catch any crappie I had a pretty good time catchin stripe and cats. Its great seein two or three poles going down at the same time. Ill try to post pics of my setup tomorrow
but I have additional holders when we make our trips down south where they are a bit more liberal. I posted some of these pics before.

Hey Yankee Doodler, where did you get the black bag hanging on the rod mounts? Looks like one I used to have that was very handy. Would like to get another one.
For those that have spider rig set up's--do you take them apart when pulling your boat or just leave them in place?

I usually have an hour drive to get to the good crappie lakes south of me, so I cover my boat. In order to do that I have to pull my rigging. My set up is all custom made by you know who and it pulls out real easy. If I am "jumping" lakes then I will leave it set up. Hope that helps.
