He added a small walk plank on his boat trailer to walk to and get into his boat thus being able to power his boat to a safe docking before taking the trailer off the ramp.
I had been using a rope tied to the truck bumper and bow eye that would allow the boat to float out past the trailer. But with cross winds one does not have as good of control using the rope and standing from shore.
As for your fishing challenge with Canepole I can't root for either one of you since you both sound like decent sort of fellows. You both suffer from one of the predominate and defining characteristics of crappie fishers and that is alot of BS. ;) :D Though I can root for you both to have a safe and good time on the water.
Thanks LBM:
I got in too late tonight to catch Cane Pole in the Chat room. Had to clean about 15 to 20 crappie and I am getting tired of cleaning fish every night. LOL Freezer is gettin full . I am going to be taking the next two days off from fishing to get ready to go to Tom's house on West Sandy at KY lake. Just hope the storms are not going to hit the lake wed afternoon or Thurday. Rain I can handle when it's warm. But thunderstorms on KY lake is a no no. I think even Tom will agree that it's not good to be on the water when there's lightening around. Tom said he would be in the chat room Tuesday so I may be able to talk with him or call him on the phone Tuesday night. Earlier this week I go the impression that he would be out of town until Wed around 1 pm when I was going to show up at his house on the lake. Just want to fish but not get shocked by lighting.
Damn weather. LOL I have not looked at the weather forcast since yesterday as I fished all day yesterday and today. Got to catch them while they are in the shallows spawning.
I am looking forward to fishing a lake that grows bigger crappie than the lake I have been fishing. We have good quanaties but the quality of fish lacks size here.
