Need Info.
I'm trying to find out what kind of miles can be expected out of a Volvo 2000 T5 S70 motor. It is 2.3 liter 5 cyclinder turbo [236 hp].
My daughter is wanting to buy it from her friend. This car it's very clean and loaded and has 124,000 miles on it.
It is the cleanest used car I've seen, but I was concerned about the miles on it. She say's the Volvo motors are great, and should be able to at least put another 100,000 miles on it.
She can get this car for $4000, I've checked around and that seens like a good price.
I'm just worried about all the miles on it. Anybody know about Volvo motors ?

What car doesn't last 2 or 3 hundred these days if you take care of it? They are all designed with CAD and made with mind boggling CNC precision micro milling. Then they are assembled by robots that don't have hang overs or care if it's Friday afternoon. You buy a Ford, Volvo , Nissan, Chevy, they are all the same now. Gas oil tire gas oil tires gas oil tires they all suck!
Don't let the name fool you either. Dig into a Nissan and half the parts say FORD on them, even their minivans are made by Ford.

my buddies family are all volvo drivers...
his mother 850 glt now has about 350,000 miles on it.
his 01 s60 has about 200,000 miles on it.
they have been very loyal and have had very good luck with every one they've owned...
100k is just getting broken in for a volvo...

I've always heard that for longevity, Volvo is supposed to be one of the best. That's just hearsay, but I've heard it from a lot of different people.
