It was tough day on the water yesterday with typical "post-cold-front" conditions including 15 - 20-mph sustained winds with gusts up to 30-mph.
We were able to fish out of the wind in several places but couldn't find many decent crappie looking for a boat ride. Finally about 45-minutes before sundown the wind eased up enough that we could fish the area we've been catching the good crappie lately.
The first one we caught there was 16.75-inches long and weighed 2-pounds, 8-ounces. We caught another one there that was 1-pound, 14-ounces and several more of our better fish for the day:
So, don't let anyone tell you that you can't catch a mess of crappie right after a major cold front passes through. The bite was definitely light and we had to fish slow and right down in the cover with small minnows and jigs tipped with very small minnows to get the better fish to bite but we hung in there and got-r-done.
