they came in a box , kinda complex cooking instructions , 3 different mixes and assorted sprinkles .
you mixed each color dough separately , then laid them on each other and rolled them up ....
uses a bunch of wax paper to accomplish said feat ,,,,
several of us involved , you have to chill the roll to cut it ...
and they need to cook a bit longer than the box says .....
and to be sure you might have noticed the one plate in a 1 gallon bag , they were made as a gift for a friend's birthday :cheers2
Yep, grew up with those in far West Texas - 600 miles west of Ft. Worth. Still make those Polvorones from scratch during the winter, nice sugar cookie treat. Unfortunate I can't get the real vanilla extract here - our government doesn't care for the alcohol content. The Chicano's make the best. Crunching on the outside and chewy in the middle.
