Done Dumped me Some Minners..........Yeah!
A wonderful time of the year, no shiners needed till next Summer. Most of you know I keep my own live bait on site. Well yesterday I scooped all the shiners left in the tank and took them to the launch with me because I was going fishing. Keeping a water chiller running, a circulating pump running, feeding, cleaning the tank, all contributes to high quality live bait. Also maintaining the water quality takes monitoring frequently. The shop always take some adjusting when the system is shutdown because it is so quiet. All the shiners were dumped in the at the ramp, my jigheads and plastics from Jason's Jigs on Ebay are smokin' the fish here. I will be moving to the Ketchn jigheads (I call them Ketchn because I pour them with #6 hooks following His recommendation) and some hand tied jigs from Takum & myself. The floating vegetation oils in our river system really ruins a hand tied jig, coats them with a brown sludge so only plastics are used normally. Our water is so clear and flow thru the woods has stopped so hand tied jigs can be used. Had a good trip with some of Takeum's yesterday. They caught Black Crappie, Shell Crackers, Goggle-Eye, Bass, & 'Gills. If you get some from Takum you will catch fish.
