Candy or multiple colors

Is there any shortcut to candy colors with a base coat? I've got a few variations of candy colors I like with various base coats, but it's time consuming in that the only time I've ever really successful is curing the base coat first, or else my colors separate.

Then I have the issue of doing two colors like a two tone head, or sprinkling another color and they combine (chart/yellow over blue, and get green).

I've been at this a while, and can get what I want eventually, but I seem to recall others arent curing the base coat first and getting good results. What am I doing wrong?

Even my glitter (mixed with clear) runs curing at 350 for 15-30min
