Wateree Friday

Went to Watree Friday night. Fished bass minnow around the dam. First drorpped bait, caught a striper, throw back. Fished two more hours, nothing. Moved to the islands around Clearwater and fished about three more hours, caught 5 more fish, NO stripers. Headed home about 12:45 am. We fished 6 down rods, slow drifted, slow trolled, and anchored down. Fished 12-25 feet down, Fished just below the bait markers on fish finder, NOTHING. Will try again Thursday night.

Sounds about like my trip last saturday night.Got to cleaarwater cove about 8 and caught bait easy,marked a lot of fish but only caught 2 stripers and lost onemore.The shad would die quickly on the hook...
