My buddy just installed one one his boat a couple weeks ago. He already had Lawrence stuff so I understand why.
Called me from the lake and couldn’t figure it out.
He even FaceTimed me and from what I saw it doesn’t come close to Garmin. I tried to help him over the phone but don’t think I helped him much.

I've been using one for about 6 months now. Bought it because I already had Lowrance stuff networked in my boat. Ive used both brands though and they are pretty comparable. The Garmin has alot more adjustments the Lowrance is more plug and play like all Lowrance stuff is. I very happy with my active target so far.
I have an Active Target but haven't gotten proper use out of it yet since I don't have a dedicated screen for it. I've been having an issue where the image looks like it's sloping downward at a steep angle. I thought for the longest time that I couldn't get my pole mount plumb enough but through some settings adjustment (of what little there is to do with Lowrance compared to Garmin), I've found that turning off "StableView" fixes that problem. That has been my only significant complaint about it.

Thanks guys. I'm considering adding a 9 Live and Active Target 2 or a Garmin 106SV and Livescope to my boat. Currently it has all Lowrance electronics on it, but it's older Gen 2 and 1 units.

Active Target 2 looks pretty good.
