Morning started off w/slight ripple & beautiful sunrise w/our migratory white pelicans swimming about. Air temp was in the upper 50's, but that changed rather quickly, as the wind died to mirror glass conditions that were unexpected. So had the pleasure to fish w/couple friends from the coast, Nelson & Chris & decided to start trolling lake Jesup waters. Had 7 or so in the box by 10:30, which was a far cry from recent trips...soooo....where did they go. Fortune would have it that wind came up all @ once to around 10 mph, so went to the shallows for isolation. Took 4 different spots, before the west point jigging rod started to get busy, 3 drops in a row w/tug from the other end & a quick phone call to Nelson & Chris to tell them I think a pattern is developing here. In Jesup fashion they were 11"& 12" fryers w/the occasional 13" in mix & didn't have to move the boat a inch before 17 or so rascals was pulled out of this 10ft x 10ft area...well it will never get old feeling the THUMP in less than 2 fow, awesome feeling, thanks for reading along & to Nelson & Chris for keeping me company today, can't wait for the next opportunity....Tight lines!! Bait was minnows & a 3/32nd jig w/cut in half chartreuse curly tail....
