Been fishing quite a bit but not posting. Been chasing…and catching crappie. I very rarely post about a crappie trip. Have been at my spot for 3 days out of the past 8 days and have netted over 300 crappie. Most of them at the 10 inch mark with good shoulders. The Abu Garcia Slow Taper Special has really shined on these trips…extreme sensitivity and extreme fun. The Blue Moon 2# test FC line really shines casting a Trout Magnet on a 1.5 gram jig head and allows me to keep it at the bottom of the ledge these crappie are holding on at about 20 feet deep. Today I started to get on more 12 inch fish. Hopefully next week the 14 inch fish will show up. After netting 100 plus crappie today I made the long drive back..feeling good about my days work. About 4 miles from my house I was stopped at a red light. I was rear ended by a teenager. Nobody hurt…thank goodness…except my 5 week old 2021 Soul Red Crystal Mazda CX 5 Signature. Pretty sick feeling. To look at the damage it doesn’t look like much. But he got into the bumper area with the sensors. I’m sure it’s going to cost his insurance company a pretty penny. But this is life and I will get my car fixed…and both of us went on about our life. Going trout fishing with son in the morning. Only 2 rods I will be taking are the Rayaz Spectra and the Eradicator. Will report how it goes.
