Can you use MAC instead of PC for Humminbird Software Updates

Sorry if I posted before .. can't find my other post..

Is it still that you can not use an Apple Mac Computer to download software updates for Humminbird and that you need a PC? Thanks ...

Does Mac have the capability to extract from a Zip file ... ??

SOLIX updates are downloaded as a Zip file and must be extracted and then copied to a SD Card ...

Yes, thanks .. I know you have to unzip to an SD card, and I have one attached, but I need to download first .. and I have a MAC .. it's not downloading properly don't think .. It used to be that Humminbird downloads not MAC compatible only PC .. I'm on hold now with Humminbid ... I'll ask, but it was weekend and so thought I'd see if anybody on here had same issue. We've had that issue before but hoped it was fixed and they had made downloads MAC compatible.

Yep it can extract, it just does differently than PC. Thanks. Maybe it's just my MAC that was acting goofy. Yes I know you have to unzip and put on SD. Thank you. Maybe my MAC was just acting glitchy.

Ever use the Fishsmart app. Just heard about it today but saw reviews weren't great. We have the Solix and I talked to Humminbird and they said they were tweaking it so it would be able to receive big updates like for Solix with the bluetooth version. We also have a Garmin Livescope and I used Active Caption to download updates and it worked well.

Updating by the FishSmart app is dicey at best for most trying to update ...

Updated my new helix 10 today on my Mac without an issue. Just make sure you format your sd card to fat32. Download the .bin file from humminbird and drag/drop to your sd card.

I didn’t have to unzip the file.
