9-30-21 Melvern
Beautiful morning for the lake. Ended up finding crappie on a brush pile in 16 fow. Fish were 14 ft down. Only thing I could get a bite on was Bobby Garland baby shad in crystal tipped with a pink crappie nibble. Several short fish, and I had one I could've kept. Took me awhile to get quick enough to get the hook set. Waited too long to leave and ended up getting rained on. I'll call it a successful day being my first Melvern crappie. I live nearby so if its not raining and windy in the am I will be back out.

Little better today. We caught quite a few. All but 4 of them were shorts. Only one piece of brush we fished didnt produce.
Highlight of the day was having 4 A-10s coming roaring out of the east flying 100 ft over the water. I shot some video of that.

Ran out this morning before the Dallas game. Caught 2 right off the bat on the first place in 5 min. It got slow after that. I caught 6 or 7 and missed about that many in 3.5 hours of fishing. One 11.5" crappie was returned to get bigger. It was kind of a no pressure scouting mission looking for new brush. Found some new stuff and pulled some fish off of it. Also learning more about the capabilities of my electronics and trolling motor.
Talked to some nice folks in a Tracker 175 with a windshield. We launched at the same time, but they were gone when I came back. If you are on here it was a nice chat.

Fished it yesterday. Only caught 2. I'll fish somewhere tomorrow morning. If you need shad, a couple throws with my cast net at Sundance for fun yielded quite a few.
