Truman 9/06 - Late update

Amy and I went out to chase some crappie. Within minutes of getting all 8 of our lines down we caught two keepers. Loads of bait fish in the area and then we noticed the surface being broken. After closer inspection, I noticed it was Gar breaking the surface. Once they became active we didn't get another crappie bite. We put four nice catfish on the boat and released them. Plus we hooked up to four gar with LDRs making it fun, but a mess when they tangle your lines. With the water back down, I caught some huge tree fish! LoL Not a bad day on the water, but the fishing wasn't great.

Rooster, I think Gar should be banned from all waters. They give us fits here in Iowa too. On those days it doesn't even help moving to a new spot as I think they are faster than me.:cheers2

How do you clean your tree fish? I fillet mine. :cheers2

I debark them and then break out the chainsaw for steaks. :biggrin

Don't forget to trim out the redwood. :biggrin
