I've tried to search, but the terms are overly generic, and a lot of what I found was early on, and folks didn't seem conclusive on what they liked and why, so, trolling motor or pole mount for your livescope transducer, and WHY? Lots of info from the bass world it seems.
I have the Fishing Specialties pole mount and so far I really like it. I like it because I use my spot lock all the time and I didn’t want to mess with the image constantly moving. I can pull up on a brush pile, spot lock my trolling motor, and scan everything with the live scope. It allows me to control when and where I’m looking as the trolling motor is working. That’s pretty much my only reason for having it in the pole. One downside is having another piece of equipment on the front of the boat. I just take some Velcro straps and secure the pole to my trolling motor when I want it out of the way. I remember this same search about 6 months ago, I suppose it’s whatever suits your fishing style. Good luck and have fun with it!Quote:

I just got a Livescope as well and have yet to get it installed. I too ordered a Fishing Specialties pole mount for the same Spot Lock reasons mentioned above. I am hoping Santa bring me the Ulterra in time for Christmas like my wife promised...:Rofl
What kind of TM do you have? What style of fishing do you do?

I use the FS and like it fine, but my fishing buddy (longtime foot pedal user who it is like 6th sense to) prefers it on the TM on his boat.

first off id get the biggest screen you can afford, i have the 1022 and wish id got the 12', anybody want to buy a used 1022? second i like the ducer on my trolling motor, livescope fishing is not like having a pole in a holder, your hands are on the pole, i need them both on the pole not turning something else, i use the foot control to turn the motor and the ducer, frees up my hands for fishing,
@gobbler it already hurt enough buying the 1022. I couldn’t justify the extra $600-$700 on a 12. Good news is, nothing is permanent. I can switch it up later if need be.
Congrats on your win yesterday as well. I’m trying to get everything up and running, and half way proficient before your trail starts up in October.
