Slow crappie day 7/21/21
Catching crappie early today was like pulling teeth without Novocain. Painfully slow. I thought that Candi wasn’t going to catch any crappie but she got the skunk off her at our last stop of the morning.
Bit, she did catch a nice LM bass 3.9 pounds that is going on our Foreman grill tonight. Blackened bass, hard to beat. I caught all the crappie early on with a pair of 12” black crappie in 30 feet of water. They regurgitated their swim bladders so I kept them.
We hit the next spot and I caught another 11.5” crappie and a short. Candi drew a blank. Then to another spot and we both drew blanks. Finally the last spot was an offshore spot on the main river channel and we located a school of crappie that were eager, but most were short. We did get 3 keepers and that many more little ones before the cruisers from Waconda bay started making the way up river and bouncing us around so we just quit with 2 hours of actual fishing time.
Lights Out, Screamer, Ghost Sparkle and Green lantern caught fish. The crappie were one foot off the 30 foot bottom and it took a lift drop technique to get a fish to bite.

Nice largemouth. Y'all managed to make a meal out of them. I am hoping to spend some time under a bridge Saturday night and see if I can draw some to the lights. It will be good to get some time on the water.
