A perfect 30 degree angle
I mean it was just perfection , might have EVEN been a 35 degree angle though . All I know factually is the outside temperature went from 100 to around 70 ,maybe lower and it was fun to angle in that for sure !
So as we angled in those cool temperatures and wind came from the north we lit them up on the south side of large crappie holding cover ,then within the 2 hour window we angled the temperature rose like an oven on preheat and the wind flipped 180 degrees and in then end nothing really changed .
Except the fish were now all on the north sides on all the crappie cover ....:Rofl
Ketchn crappie 101 , downwind side of the structure is likely where they will hang around in most situations .
Some of the age old techniques were employed on this adventure like marker buoy placement and we left with a really good pile of fish at 10 am , started at 8 am .
seemed to be not really picky at the 3 spots we hit and all 3 spots were pitch the bait and set the hook action . LOTS of 9 to 11 inch fish in the mix with a few up over 12 inches .
My bud said he had a tough trip there the day before because of the front and to be very sure this is how crappie angling can be . If I said we probably managed well over 200 fish in 2 hours you would say ,no way .
Then I would say like always come watch sometime and see for yourself , 3 old anglers in an old boat with old equipment can git er dun :highfive
So right when you think you need technology and high end stuff to properly angle for crappie , my thought is that you just need to angle like you mean it .
KABOOM is the word yawl :cheers2
p.s. some of them fish was thumping like a hammer ,no fish were managed in depths beyond 10 feet deep water and most came out of 6 foot deep waters .
water was well over 80 degrees and the fish were really frisky critters .
image 2 you might notice my buddy fighting one right under the fish i am holding ,good times for sure .
AND YES my trusty Crappie.com ball cap went into the perfect angle with me :Rofl
