White capping crappie with Candi 4/27/21
I had to take my wife, Wanda for an appointment this morning, so Candi and I didn’t get out until 1 pm or so and quit just after three.
Unfortunately, the wind was blowing pretty hard and white capping the main river, so we didn’t do as well as we would normally, although I caught a keeper on the first drop down with my jig. We fished there for a few moments more but no more bites so we hit a couple more spots.

Candi did manage to land a slab in that very windy spot, but she had her heart broken when a huge bass ate her jig, came to the surface with its grapefruit sized mouth open, and spit the jig back in her face as I was reaching for the net. She will have dreams tonight of that bass.

Another pic of Daisy with a crappie that Candi got just before I picked her up at her dock. Attachment 399667
That is it for now. It appears that the crappie are in transition back to deeper spots. I can’t wait until they all get back home. Offshore deep structure is my first love when it comes to crappie fishing. :biggrin
