Need a new spinning rod. Help!
Hi all. I have been gone from the board awhile. I will be back.
I am here today looking for help with new ultralight spinning rod. I want something fast action is that will toss anything from a beetle spin to a 3/16th jig head or small lures. I have been using and abusing a BnM Duck commander rod for years in the salt. Yes, I do use it on crappie and panfish, but in the Glades it can be panfish one minute and snook the next in the canals. Two days ago I tossed a z man minnow on a 1/8th ounce jig head off the boat ramp and landed a four foot tarpon. It took awhile, but with ten pound braid and a 2500 shimano Sedona it worked! Not what it was designed for, or my intended use, but its nice to know you are prepared.:Rofl
Anyway the salt has finally ratted it out and I need a new rod. So, rather than just go buy a new one I thought I would ask for help. My parameters are that it has to handle the above mentioned weight, or at least go as high as 1/8th ounce, be at least six feet and be under a hundred bucks. I just dropped $150 on an inshore rod and need to stay in the budget range, or a t least try.
Thanks!
