I've held off on buying the Garmin because I'm a Humminbird guy. I would preorder but not without seeing some actual images/video. I've searched all over and nothing, if they have it they need to put it out there. Even bought my Gen 4 mega so I'm ready when it comes out. I have trust they will have a great product but not enough to put another $1,500.00 down without seeing what I'm getting. Marketing needs to step it up!
Have a great day,
Ray
It’s more than likely not a marketing problem, like I mentioned in other thread, they are probably more behind than people are expecting. Kevin Van Dam was supposed to have it on his boat at Redcrest and it didn’t happen. Whether it’s bugs still to be worked out or parts or what is anyone’s guess. But it’s a little suspect to me if it was really close to being brought out that those guys don’t have it and there is no video.

One would think they would have a video showing a live view by now.
Still think it will be the 4th quarter if the year before debuting.
Looks a lot like Lowrance to me. I think they ran into a trademark problem.

I'll jump into the muddy views from the Mega Live crystal ball...
From Humminbird's website.."See fish in real-time, in no time. MEGA Live Imaging provides the most impressive live sonar on the water, allowing you to watch fish and structure in real-time, powered by the unmatched detail of MEGA Imaging[emoji2400]. This U.S. Patent Pending technology provides views out, down, and around your boat with absolute clarity, and even allows you to watch fish bite your lure."
With the speed of bureaucratic government at an all-time snail's pace, perhaps the patent process is a contributing factor to the slow rollout.
They are not going to bring any new technology out until it's properly protected.

That’s what I was thinking as well. Wanted to nail down the patent before letting the world see it.
HB engineering bench is not that deep to develop something so "new" that it requires a complicated and long patent.
Besides, 1st filed with gooberment wins any way in long run.
Most likely the tech they will use is from Garmin or an overseas company.
My hope is the later as a source because that would give them the ability to have something stepped up from Garmin and not held back like Lowrance.
The fact that it did not show at Redcrest at all tells me it may very well still a be long while on availability.
Hope I am wrong
The supposed sneak leak earlier was a marketing attempt to deter sales from competitors during holiday buying season.
Spring is hear and boats are being delivered and existing boats upgraded and re rigged and still a no show for what ever reasons, be it tech, parts etc.
I anxiously await the announcement of "game on" for HB Live availability to the public.
My 2 cents
Thought I would share as this was posted by WayneP on the HB forum on the BBC site yesterday about HB Live.
The good news is it really exists and they are testing prototypes, but the quote makes it sound like it may be quite awhile before HB Live is ready for prime time.
Darn it. :(:(:(
Hopefully soon.

Posted today on Facebook about an hour ago:
"I talked to a dealer today that had one a month ago that he referred to as a Gen 1 transducer, said it had promise but quite a few bugs to be worked out, he also said HB was on their 3rd Gen transducer right now trying to get the kinks worked out, hence why none of the pros have them yet. He also said he was having TONS of issues with Lowrance AT right now from his customers "
Still hearing next year.
Already pulled the trigger on Livescope with 1222.
Sorry Humminbird
