Water Temps
This may have been cussed and discussed before and if so please help anyway LOL
Trying to understand if the water is 70 on surface what would it be 20ft deep. Is there a formula for this sort of thing? I'm thinking 2-3 degree difference per 10 ft but I do not know.

That would depend on time of year & region of the country, as well as size/depth of that particular lake.
As evidenced by this graph - there is no real difference in temp at depth "at that date" & the lake is Green River Lake in south central KY.

While this chart of Taylorsville Lake, located in west central KY, shows a similar trend, but is a much smaller lake than Green River Lake.

Both of these lakes are normally "lightly stained to stained", so a "very stained to murky" water lake or a "generally clear to lightly stained" lake may have a somewhat different temperature range at depth. I don't have access to charts for those lakes in KY, because they are not COE lakes of the Louisville Region, which is where I got the charts above.

not sure myself , but to be sure only the water around 10 foot deep or or under temps. will have much play in the spawn if that's where this is going .

Your 2-3 degree per 10 is pretty close. In stained water the value would be on the higher side due to less light penetration and in clear water on the lower side. 20 ft down in clear water is warmer than 20 in dirty in most situations.
