Those of you who use Crappie Magnets, do you tie a loop knot or follow the suggested knot tight to the eye? I prefer loop knots but they seem to feel that a loop is not the best for this lures action. :dono

Always "tight to the eye" for me.
The larger heads work fine with a loop knot . While using two baits a 1/8 or 1/16 is used on the bottom with a loop knot . A smaller jig above it would be tight to the eye of the hook . JMO
I used Crappie Magnets for years and caught tons of crappie with them. I always used a Palomar knot tight to the eye. When you say they I assume you mean the owner of the company? I don’t know how you fish.....I used them cast and retrieve but I am pretty sure many CM users do the dead stick......trolling....pushing......and other methods of fishing. Very few will use it cast and retrieve.
Regards
I'm just the opposite. I have caught a ton of fish while casting and retrieving Crappie Magnets. Count it down and a slope steady retrieve. Usually a 1/16 jig with a black/chartreuse Magnet.

Mostly Palomar tight to the eye for me, but have used the Kreh non slip mono as well. My fingers can tie those two reliably so they get the nod. The fish don’t seem to care.

Clinch knot - always. What allows the best action for the Magnet and other small lures are small diameter lines (in my case soft braid ), an unsteady retrieve and light action 6'6" rod.
I'm not pleased with the short body of the lure and modify it to thicken it or usually cut off the tail and attach it to a larger body that can take a larger hook (i.e. larger hook gap and longer hook shank).
Just my preferences.
Palomar or Uni knot tight to the eye for me. Have used on a loop too though with success. Don’t think it matters much, fish love them.

This is the point of my question. The company puts a lot of emphasis on being horizontal in the water. Then they show us a the "crappie magnet " knot. Does horizontal depend on not using a loop knot??? I have not experimented in the sink yet [emoji16]
