Fixed or totalled ?
Our daughter was in her first major vehicle accident. Luckily both parties walked away unscathed.
Her car - 2011 nissan versa, 90,000 miles. So you think it will be fixed or totalled? Air bag didn't deploy.

By the way, the guy that hit her, a very stand-up guy!

Glad no one was hurt. Vehicles can be replaced and repaired.

bluebook it on the low side and compare the quotes you get to fix it .
if its pretty close I would go different car myself .

Yes, Her car did it's job, she's safe. A toyota tacoma pulled out in front of her. He has minimal damage.
I've bluebooked it, shop will look at it next week, they just got the approval friday afternoon to give a quote. As it turns out, the shop we had it towed to, is a "preferred provider" for the guy's insurance. Luck, Coincidence? I know of the shop, haven't heard bad about them.

If it’s close they will probably total it. If chopped for parts it can be worth more than fixing it. Sorry to hear about the air bag not deploying, but thank heavens the hit was on the passenger side and most importantly she is fine.

My experience is that if there is major suspension or frame damage it will most likely be totaled. Junkyards here in Ohio will give 150.00 for a car and then part it out. Glad your daughter is safe. If the insurance totals it they will sell it or give you the option of buying it back.

Thanks all, for her well wishes!
I'm also thinking it will be worth more for parts. I bluebooked it, best case scenario, $4000 (private party sale). That was putting it as "very good condition", being generous. I have no clue what was damaged under the hood, engine, steering, etc.
I have mixed feelings about the air bag not deploying. In a way, its good. Will keep the repair price down, and she didn't get get injured by the air bag. On the other hand, what kind of impact would it take, for it to deploy?

Glad your daughter is okay!
Hope you end up in a good place on the car.

Any decent repair place will be higher than 4,000 is my thought if they use genuine Nissan parts.
Car repair done right is expensive.
