KABOOM is what we do ....
Went out to our spot in the woods , son in law wanted a deer and does not have the time to go get one .
My little and myself sat out before it snowed Sunday and had a pretty good time . She was grounded from electronics and it was quite a chore for her to be quiet and sit still for 2 hours .
Some of the deer that came for the evening feed sure enough did not stay very long . Someone was making a fair amount of noise and movement in the window . :yikes
First group that came was rather nervous and the big momma sure enough made us within seconds of coming out of the woods . That big ole doe is one we call "nip ears " , you might notice on the photo at full alert she has both ear tips nipped off from a previous predatory encounter of some sort I am pretty sure , and YES she is always rather jumpy.
Gone in flash were they and we waited for possibly a few with less nerves going on . Next group came from the open pasture behind us and this group had what I thought was 3 mature does in it .
Long story short i picked what I thought was a slightly larger doe and after the shot , the other 2 came back in to look over the fallen . This is typically a sign it was a mom of those 2 and to be sure it sometimes makes me sad to see that scenario .
Anyway the little didn't realize they were the young ones and that was mom ,so I left it at that so as not to spoil the harvest .
She mentioned it was odd they wanted to hang around after we just shot one , but none the less I kept the woohoo we got a nice doe going on until we left with her in the truck .
Hit her a tiny bit low in the neck and to be sure I never saw a deer bleed out that well .
She had a pool the size of a truck hood under her and sure did field dress nicely . On a slight hill she got about zero blood on her or in her.
Deer heart fajitas Sunday and dropped off the deer on ice off Sunday night .:highfive

Nice job guys.
Never had anything made with the heart.
When I hunted I always saved the liver.
Haven’t eaten anything but fish and chicken for years.
Thanks for sharing
