I was shown this rig here recently and did fairly decent with it but I was wondering if there are any better options basically its a one ocean bank sinker on bottom and two hooks tied directly to the line Attachment 391904

If the hooks are tied direct to the main line of that rig and the sinker is not on the bottom of the lake, creating slack line, it would seem to me to be much more difficult for the fish to inhale the bait ... because it would have to lift the weight.
I think a better rig would be to have those hooks on a loop knot of about 4-6" from the main line ... but, that's just me.
Well, either that or go way down in the size/weight of that sinker.
Here is a link to some of the rigs I use. I too like to have my hooks tied on a loop knot about 6 inches from the main line. The second image shows my favorite rig. I believe it allows the minnow to swim somewhat freely which intheory should attract more fish. Hope this helps.

Here is how I tie mine. Can use bare hooks or quickly change to jigs. Let’s minnows swim free and very little tangle. Used heavy line just for ilistration. I usually tie with Abrazx 15 lb. and 1/2 oz sinker is norm.
