The Werewolf and The Silver Bullet
Just so everyone understands no one is totally immune to a stinky skunk I will start off telling the story about a raining windy cold stop a couple of days ago at a spot there should have been some fish . I popped in for about 20 to 30 minutes and never got even the slightest of a peck from anything ! :yikes
Was it a disappointment , YES , but I set a plan into motion immediately to cure it and knew that spot would stop being good soon . I knew another spot that would be good soon and went that way the next day .
With high hopes that 3 days of 30 to 40 weather and rain might drive the fish into a winter mode, I let the wheels on the truck roll .
I opted for the Silver bullet mask as I knew the gold one was just so so the other day and thought I need a hammer festival. Sure enough the HAMMER was in motion and I actually woke up with a sore arm this morning .The fish were nice size and in nice numbers and in FULL WINTER MODE !
Hunkered down right in the brush and wanted the jig ALMOST motionless. There was No I think I got a bite ! They flat hammered the paint literally off one of my jig heads and it was a hammer down sling festival . All fish got released and most of the fish were in the keeper and up range .
and yes I did ketch one lone bass in the mix , everything else was white crappie.
When the moon showed up on the eastern horizon the fish quit biting just like that , I howled at it once as any good Werewolf would do and went on my way
I managed over 2 limits of keepers in 2 hours and got to the point I quite taking photos and those that know me ,means it was STUPID busy out there . 3 30 pm until 5 30 pm was the bite window
So you might ask what did I use , Limits Tackle and it lived up to its name .
KABOOM IS THE WORD YAWL :highfive
p.s. I took off the mask for bit here and there as well ......just testing to see if it was in fact a magic silver bullet :Rofl
