When I was painting cranks I bought some of those at flea markets and sanded and repainted them. They worked well but don’t like coming home when they get near standing timber or brush. Solid pearl white with a touch of chartreuse on the front of the back and a spot of hot pink on the bottom near where the gills would be was a hot combo. Great hits on the fall, stay in touch with it. Enjoy and keep us posted.
I’ve always contemplated those, but fish way to much standing timber.
Figured I’d loose it the first day.

Nice, they will hunt and retrieve.
Yes they are kinda of a one lure in tight quarters. I've fished them for years for walleye in open water. There are two lakes near me that have good populations of crappie and lots of water with no standing timber left. I also made a good lure retriever that works well but no more money than they cost to make I usually just sacrifice the lure, keep on fishing and add that to my list of things to make next winter. Skeet, We like the white body too. I'll try your suggestion.
Those look great. How do you make them ?
Do-It molds makes the mold and sells the body blanks. They are quick to pour and come out very clean. I made a stainless set of thin pates to fit around the head and spring clamp them on the body. Then heat and dip in powder paint and remove plates. add the hooks and wallah, ready to fish. The lures and plates need cleaned up a bit but that's it. Eyes and strips are all done at the end. Wish I had an air brush, I thing a lot of cool things could be done.
The airbrush I used came from harbor freight and always served me well. Cleaning before storing is key with the tight clearances inside. The paints I used were water base so cleanup was easy. I use a clear coat that ScottV from Mississippi told me about. If you like I can dig it all out and let you know about it. The crankbait I did held up well, still have some of them .
Skeet, don't dig it out for this but if you get set up to paint I would love to see your set up. Thanks
Grumpy, I’ll be getting into it tomorrow and I’ll post some about it then, shower and bed for work tomorrow right now. Til then......
