August crappie 8/06/20
I just love crappie fishing. Actually, I love to catch everything that swims. But especially crappie and Striper fishing. I like it even better when we catch good crappie like Dr Phillip and I did this morning early.
It wasn’t one of those fish jumping in the boat type of mornings, but persistence and knowing that the fish were in the area, kept us after them as we changed presentation techniques until we finally got lucky. The fish were deep and reluctant. I caught one 12” fish that was so deep that both of its eyes were bugged out of its head.
We landed 9 keepers (13.75”) and one short crappie on the 3 spots that we fished. Dr Phil caught a couple of trashy green fish that we released. Phil transported the fish to the Crisco lake. We stopped fishing at our agreed to 9:30 am.
Current started off at 12,000 and jumped to 25,600 by the time that we finished. North wind but very gentle. Water temp was 84 as the storms and rain showers that we have had the past few days has knocked the surface temps down a couple of degrees or more. I caught fish on Bobby Garland Minnow Mind’Rs and Baby Shads and Phil caught on Baby Shads. Monkey Milk, Blue Ice, Tennessee Shiners, Green Thunder and Blue Thunder.

Nice DK! You need to inform the Dr that transplanting fish from one lake to another is very illegal. rotfl
