Any advice
We will be taking a trip next week and I will be doing some fishing.
We will be in Erie Pa for 4 days. I may get to do some walleye fishing but want to do some shore fishing at Presque Isle . Looking for a meal of perch ,crappie so on. I have fished there before and am fairly familiar with the park area.
Next 4 days we will be staying south of Kinzua dam. I want to fish the tail race mainly for trout but am open to advice for any tug on my line. Also I want to fish the Clarion river for trout. I guess the west branch behind the dam will have the colder water suitable for c and r flyfishing for them.
Any and all information from those areas is always appreciated.

All good places to fish. Darl Black's report will be out by this coming Wednesday. So it may help you in deciding. You are in a lot of members neighbor hood. Have you ever fished Pymy and Shenango? The Shenango River coming in to Shenango has trout also, at Big Bend. Shenango Lake has a campground,, and so does Pymy, plus there are other place there to stay, in cabins.

I have fished Pymy a few times. Mainly for carp with my fly rod. Any tips on shore fishing it? I never fished Shenango. If you want to book a site tis year you need to book well in advance. We need a electric hook up so that narrows it down a little. I have worked with Jim at Folleys End camp ground since he bought it 20 yrs. ago so that is where we will camp at. Then we made a reservation at the state park just south of Warren. I forget the SP name but it is easy to look up.
It appears with the cv19 many are camping instead of the motel. Also car trips seem more popular then flying. We try to go to low cv19 case areas as we are seniors so no since taking any chances. I will have to consider your information.
Thanks, Tony

Tony, Mercer County is listed as Green, for the state. Erie, county is way higher than us. A lot of people don't know, that when one spouse turns either 60 or 62, that you can sign up with the state, and federal govt, to get reduced rates when you camp. You have to apply for a pass, which you pay for. Snenango Lake is way cheaper, than state lakes to camp at. Also at Pymy, their weekend rates are higher than during the week.
Like you, the wife and I are senior citizens. Keith

What are the names of the passes you are referring to.?We get a senior discount on the state parks automatically for our age when we apply for a site online.

The senior lifetime passes are good for federal parks and campgrounds, not state parks. You only need one for you and your spouse. The pass has its perks as you can get a campsite for half off in some federal parks.
