Swim Ketch Swim Ketch and repeat
I took 2 days of vacation this week . Almost went to Arkansas but opted out for several reasons . We instead visited some of the state parks here in Texas .
One park was for swimming and ketchn crappie and the next one was for swimming and ketchn coppernose bluegill .
We had a marvelous time at both parks and became somewhat water logged after many hours of swimming . Park 2 is a spot where we love to ketch coppernose bluegill and it rarely disappoints us . Yesterday was no different that the many visits in the past.
My daughter whooped them real good on her old barbie pole and mom whipped em good with another bream rod and of course in between ice chest visits and helping unhook coppernose i got to ketch a few myself :cheers2
We went to this park just for mom because she loves that spot to ketch fish for eating . The water is beautiful and it off in the middle of nowhere and self contained and spring fed . We kept 25 for the freezer and let the rest swim on .
6 went straight to the oven last night when we got home and as you well know fresh out of the water on ice and then off into the oven crispy bluegill fillets are just about as good as a food item can get ! :cheers2
We tipped jigheads and tiny jigs with hot dogs because all of the stops along the way were sold out of worms ! :yikes
the fish were nice size and most were in the 8 inch range and beautiful . A few were sporting eggs that I noticed when I cleaned them and the larger fish were on the bottom in around 12 foot of water . 11 am to 2 pm and to be sure we hammered them right well .
The kid flat whooped mom good with her barbie pole and for a while it seemed i might get schooled as well . Fun times for sure , we chased lizards and frogs and played with another little girls big ole crawdad and swam until it was time to travel on after we loaded the ice chest with a few dinners .
KABOOM is the word :cheers2
