Looking for rod recommendations for pulling cranks...model/brand and power. Looking for rods in the 7.5'-9' length...i.e. easily castable. Planning to pull (6) rods from my Millennium rods racks...straight out the back of the boat so line separation shouldn't be an issue. Will be using spinning gear. I've already had a friend recommend the 8' BnM Power Trollers. These are cost effective and I am considering but notice they don't have "spinning" eyelets...not sure if this is a big deal.
X2 on the Power trollers, you will not be dissapointed. No revelance on the non-spinning eyelets, they work fine with spinning gear. I use 12' ones out both sides for a bigger swath. Grizzly jig has a quantity discount on them.
No reason to cast, it actually leads to more tangles if the crank lands backwards or hooks the line on landing. Just drop it in, and let the line out.
Levelwind works better than spinning, but I understand wanting to use what you already have.
Diawa Wilderness, Okuma Classic Pro, Shimano TDR all work fine and are less than $30. You want a moderate action rod, with just enough power to handle bycatch (catfish/drum/stripe/bass etc).

For mid length and short rods the ole Shakespeare "ugly stick " is plenty good for pulling cranks . Academy has good prices on there fairly often .
