I believe it’s too late! The corporation that owns this land is tied into sooo many other people in higher places.
The best I can example it is the corporation would be like the tree trunk and the limbs are the owners. These owners consist of senators, representatives, land lawyers, or anyone willing to invest in this corporation. So when a group of people approach and Ask from a member of the state government to help with a problem of such it’s like asking for them to give up a income. Some of these owners don’t even live in Louisiana and could care less about fishing. It’s all about money and liabilities. We as fishmen are a liability when we are floating in their canals.
I work in the oilfield and know most of the corporations that own this so call land along the intercostal in the bayou black area. I am totally against Blocking waterways off.
I don’t have a answer to the problem but for it to get over turned I think it would have to be a federal order.

It was inevitable, after the ruling on Catahoula Lake the corporation not only owns the land on a navagable water way they own the water also so they can block it if they want to. It still sucks!

Our politicians are like race horses - they have owners and handlers and respond to people hired to ride them and make sure they respond properly. As long as they produce, they are taken care of and when they stop producing, they are put out to pasture. The public only gets to watch.

May the Sylvania and Water Hyacinth gods be with them. With our luck the State of Louisiana will come spray there on our dime.

Louisiana needs to change it's laws but how will that happen when the politicians are the land owners. We'll just have to drive a little further.
