Why didn't you tell me I was drunk?
Many years ago, Spencer (the father of one of my wife's daycare kids) asked me to go fishing with him and his son in his boat. He asked me to bring the drinks, so I got some soft drinks and fruit juice. When I opened the cooler, he laughingly said that "drinks" had to include a few beers. After that, there were always a couple of beers. One afternoon as we were loading the boat back onto the trailer, i said "Go!". To my surprise, he backed up, instead of pulling forward. He didn't hit the brake until the engine compartment was in the water and I was floating and hanging onto the top of the Jeep. Somehow, the motor didn't kill, the tires maintained traction, and we made it out. When I said '"What happened?". Instead of admitting he had a lapse, he blamed it on me and the two beers he had drunk, saying "It's your fault. Why didn't you tell me I was drunk?".
