Quarantine Project
I bought the plans to build this boat about two years ago but have just now gotten around to starting the build (about the only good thing to come from the quarantine). Floor is 3/8 plywood, sides are 1/4, and the stern is 3/4. It's got 1x2's that run the entire length on top and bottom and then finished up with a layer of 6oz fiberglass cloth and resin on the outside and just epoxy resin on the inside. Found out the hard way your not supposed to spray on lacquer in high humidity settings as it will trap the moisture and put a cloudy finish on everything. Luckily another coat of lacquer melted the first and let the moisture escape for the most part. Took it out for the maiden voyage for a couple hours at Torrance yesterday and was able to boat the first fish. Attachment 373127Attachment 373128Attachment 373129Attachment 373130Attachment 373131

Cool project. And awesome to catch something out of a boat you built with your hands. I bet that young man is licking his chops to get his hands on that boat.
