Some old abandoned oil field fast line:scratchhead. Well it looked like some potential building material to me. So I'm gonna to try it out. Got plenty of material to gather so I plan on building quite a few of them and try to get some house guest to come along. Won't hurt nothing....rainy day projects....

Only problem I see is a lot of hooks getting hung up in that cable! But it should definitely attract some fish!

The black pipe is what we call 1/2" black roll pipe (very cheap to buy--500' for 35.00). The reason I used it because I don't thing a hook will snag in the pipe since it is so hard and slick on the outside. I think it is more plastic than PVC? Thanks for your input yankar. That thought did cross my mind of using some sort of x base but I thought it made it more difficult to get out the boat. The cinder block I use were given to me, the main "trunk" was repurposed roadside junk, the 1/2" was bought at a cheap cost, a sack of sakrete will do 4 trees, and my flotation mounted on the top prior to sending the "tree" over the side is some more repurposed junk in the form of heavier plastic bottles like liquid laundry soap. Once it is all put together, I load them in the boat with my tractor front loader and when I get to the place to put it out, I just simply flip it over the side and watch it sink being held upright by the bottle on top. Simple one man operation. I have had several out over the past couple of years and they are still in place standing upright with fish on them.
Right now I just wish this rain would stop long enough for me to get to my plastic trees.....LOL. Again thanks for you input and suggestion...
