Green, Rough or Nolin?
I haven't fish for crappies in years and would like to start again, I'm thinking about going to one of these three lakes to try my luck and catching a few crappies. Which of these three lakes do you guys think is better for crappie fishing? Out of the three I've only fished Rough river and the last time I was there the water was very stained and didn't have any luck, not sure about the other two lakes.

Any of the 3 can be fantastic at any given time. I have more experience at Green, but also really like nolin. Just haven’t fished nolin in a couple of years due to lack of time

You left out Taylorsville Lake :dono :biggrin
Seriously though, Green is probably your best bet for overall numbers of keeper fish, but most all of its cover is submerged. Pushing, Pulling, & Spider Rigging are probably the most used techniques on Green.
Taylorsville, on the other hand, is a much smaller lake ... so you could spend a lot less time "searching" for cover to fish, as it has lots of downed timber & standing timber. You just have to remember that on Taylorsville Lake the size limit is 10" & the creel limit is 15/person/day. (whereas on Green the size limit is 9" & the creel is 20/person/day)

If you are talking about 'now', Green is still 20+ feet over summer pool. Launching a boat is a challenge.

Nolin is 3 feet over summer pool and Rough is at summer pool. We went last weekend on Rough and caught a few nice ones. They were tight on brush piles or stuck to the trees. Right now the water is really muddy and has come up 7ft since the 11th.
