Fishing outting to remember
About 15 years ago I went fishing with my uncle in a watershed just outside of a small nearby town. This place was completely surround by thick cattails and the land was shoulder high grass and weeds. We caught a lot of small bass as we motored around the cattails. Then 2 boats showed up with 2-3 people in each. They stayed quite a ways from us but we could see them catching bucket loads of fish and dropping them in the boat. This continued this was for about an hour. They had LOTS of fish so we slowly made our way closer to see what they were doing. When we were less than about 100 yds away all he** broke loose. Out of the weeds popped up what looked like 20 DNR Agents, local police, & ATF Agents. They were fishing with crank telephones and making a killing. I found out later that they had been investigating them for a couple weeks and today was the day to pay up. They were slapped with felony charges of which I don't remember exactly. Let me tell you it was pretty scary when all those people jumped up all at once with guns drawn. I needed fresh Fruit of the Looms when I got home. I will remember that day of fishing always.
