The Giving Time of Year
Fellow members, this is the time of year that Slab allows me to simply remind you, that we on this sight are great givers. We all have so much fishing gear and enjoy so many good times. All I'm saying is please consider those not so blessed. Find a fund to donate to and just give a little. For the price of a little gear or tackle we could make a charitable donation instead. I am not advocating any particular fund, but if you give, do your homework and look for a fund that gives most of the donations to those in need. Could be a local church, or a sight as big nationally as Salvation Army. Remember when we give the returns are always good for the heart. Thanks if you read this far. "D"
Now this comes from me. We all love this sight. Slab would never solicit donations, but this sight is not free. Major sponsors help us, but so does buying from the sight store. Remember there are some great items you can give for presents. And everyone needs Slab/G sauce. Also, and this is not something Slab talks about much, you can click on the Membership tab at the top of the page and become a supporter, member sponsor, or simply just make a donation. Let's keep this sight going forever. As I said, this is "D" asking, Slab is too humble to do this.
Hope you all have a merry Christmas. Remember the reason for the season. And thank you Slab for this great sight.:santa:santa:santa

The Giving Time of Year
Thanks Danny. I thank the Lord every day about this site. It has brough me so much joy. From vbottom and his wife coming down from Michigan yesterday and going out fishing with me, to me buying a house, sight unseen, through Speckanators wife, through the wonderful hand made gift I received in the mail from PawPaw Gene yesterday. This site have really been unreal for me. I can go on and on with stories over many years. Since 1996 actually. It's also got me off my butt, to tour the country with wonderful friends like Billbob, to meet other wonderful friends made on the site. Ask wifey, i'd be sitting in my chair buying canned sardines off Amazon if it wasn't for this site.
This site has been a grass roots effort from the beginning with all the wonderful mods and supermods putting in all the effort into keeping the site safe and clean. And then there's the one to whom I always say "it's all your fault". He's on the site 24x7 literally. I think you know who I'm talkinG about. I'll let you Guess on that one. And yes, it is "all his fault". I may keep the wheels turning, and the server running. But it's all the great people on the site that really make it what it is. Crappie fishermen and fisher women are the best. Generous to a fault.
Here's what Pawpaw Gene sent to me and wifey too. Hand made, special woods, with polished deer antler, and made with love. Wow, this site is great.

Oh, and maybe please do buy some calendars. Buy 3 and I'll throw in a fourth free. I have more than I thought I'd have by now, and they're kinda gonna expire as time moves on. doh.
